Girl Talk: Stepping Back into Style is a day event where 30 middle school girls are introduced to adult female mentors from various organizations to spend a day getting to know each other as the shop for back to school clothes. For Our Kids, Inc. has partnered with Old Navy in the past 4 yrs. This is our first year hosting at Old Navy (Crabtree) located at 4325 Glenwood Ave. Raleigh, NC 27612. to host our annual back to school event. The girls and their mentors are welcomed with light refreshments, they are given a branded Old Navy shopping bag to start their shopping spree. For Our Kids will provide each young lady the opportunity to purchase their back to school clothes.  As the mentors guide and get familiar with the mentees this allows for wonderful opportunities to talk about academic goals and future aspirations. Each young lady will leave the event with the their first day of school outfit, in addition they will receive a new book to kickoff this years Alice Walker book club cohort. And a list of upcoming workshops and outings for the academic school year.                   Sunday August 6th @ 9AM  Old Navy - CrabTree  4325 Glenwood Ave. Raleigh, NC 27612 Girl Talk is a movement designed to empower, educate, elevate our young girls to become the Leader from within.Leadership opportunities are developed by Academic Excellence, Health and Wellness, Financial Literacy, Serving the Community and being Social Justice Advocates. Through open dialogue, thought-provoking crafts and healthy nutrition projects, Girl Talk Workshops create a safe space where girls can honor their individuality while embracing each-other. ● The thoughts, we choose to feed our minds are the most powerful tools we have to live a happy and healthy life.● Girls who truly believe in themselves and understand the influence of their own personal power, are happier, more confident, and experience peace in their lives and relationships.● These opportunities are truly endless for a young girl when she understands that she is capable of living a life beyond the limits of her imagination.
