Eyewitness Palestine is back with the next Zoom event in our monthly series, "Art Under Occupation," which features several globally-recognized Palestinian artists, including Saleh Bakri, Sliman Mansour, Dareen Tatour, Kher Fody, & Yazid Sadi. Saleh Bakri is a Palestinian actor who has starred in films like "<a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/81424328">The Present</a>" (2020) and "<a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/70117041">Salt of this Sea</a>" (2008). <a href="https://slimanmansour.com/">Sliman Mansour</a> is the painter responsible for the one of the most iconic Palestinian artworks, "Camel of Hardships" and "Woman with Jerusalem." Dareen Tatour is the i<a href="https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2018/7/31/dareen-tatour-sentenced-to-five-months-in-prison-over-poem">nternationally recognized poet who was jailed by Israel</a> for one of her poems. While she was incarcerated, she spoke out about abuse she'd experienced as a child, and, by doing so, empowered Palestinian women from all over to tell their own stories. Kher Foudy is a multi-talented artist who paints pictures using Arabic calligraphy and is also the frontman of the iconic Palestinian band "Walaat," whose <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMlfUc5V9PQ">music of resistance</a> showcase the resilience of the Palestinians of occupied Akka.
