They will become conversant with the legal and ethical issues surrounding the treatment of suicide. They will gain skills in working with survivors of suicidal family members and the effects of client suicide on providers. They will gain these skills through lectures, videos, discussions, and experiential learning. The outcomes will include more clients with less suicidal ideation and fewer attempts, from clinicians who are competent in bringing this to be. 9:00- Prevalence, Kinds, Victims, and EƯects of Abuse and how to talk to clients with abuse history. The difficulty of talking about sexual issues, depending on your and clients’ genders to include women, men, children, teens, gay men, lesbians, male and male or female therapists.  10:00 break  10:10-Starting Active Therapy to include Therapeutic Relationships, goals, establishing the safe present, assessing dissociation, choosing a trauma therapy, EMDR, Ego State Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Starting trauma therapy. 12:00 Lunch  1:00- Healing Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse and the Long Haul—Healing Trauma to include dealing with dissociation, shame: “It’s my fault”, sexual feelings during abuse, attachment to abusers (with DETUR), family dynamics, if abuser is a family member, fear, anger, shame (I am damaged goods), and getting to “I’m over it.  Working with Suicidal Clients and Those Affected by Suicide 2:00- Risk &amp; demographics, triggers, state change, assessment, diagnosis, history 3:15 break  3:25- Chronic, acute &amp; self-harm, cognitions and feelings, hospitalization and after, stabilization, contracts, therapists and consultation, PTSD, depression, bipolar, anxiety, psychotic disorders, grief 4:00-Building affect tolerance, ego state work, death of a loved one and when a client dies.
