Stop the Bleed & VA Firearms Safety Class

This training will consist of a Stop the Bleed class and a VA Handgun Safety class. The Stop the Bleed portion is approximately 1 hour with lecture and hands-on skills for stopping life-threatening bleeding. Participants will be able to practice direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet application.You will earn a Stop the Bleed certificate. The VA Handgun Safety portion is approximately 4 hours long with lecture and discussions on the basics of firearms ownership, handgun safety and nomenclature, and handgun fundamentals and operation.NO WEAPONS OR AMMUNITION ARE ALLOWED. The VA Handgun Safety Class by itself is educational only.You will not earn a certificate from this class without scheduling a follow-on range live-fire exercise.If you complete this class and a follow-on live-fire exercise, you will earn a course certificate that meets the requirements for the VA Concealed Handgun permit (CHP). The only additional cost for the live-fire is the $10-$15 range fee.
