While creating these fun projects, you will learn valuable skills for future projects. This is a 4 week series and students will be encouraged to practice between classes. Class fee includes all materials. including a starter crocheting set and yarn to complete a few small projects during lessons. Instructor-Linda Wagner I am an FLB Class of 1994 alumnus. I am a mother of 2, stepmother of 7 and grandmother of 15. My passion for crochet started when I has14 years old, my sister in law’s mom (Grandma Jean as we call her) taught me my very first stitch. I didn’t do much during my teen years with crochet, it evolved as I got older. I made various items throughout my adult life, but when I got remarried, I made shawls for the entire wedding party which ignited the flame! I pray when I crochet, so prayers and love are in every stitch. I mentioned this to a friend and she introduced me to Prayer Shawl at St. Joe’s. I joined their ministry. I was there for a couple of years before I realized that my home parish, Blessed Sacrament, did not have a ministry. I talked to Father Phil and Deacon Kevin about the idea and they loved it, so I started a ministry at our parish (Comfort In God’s Arms). I am excited to share my gift of crochet by teaching. I have taught my daughters, niece, grandchildren, stepdaughter and others who have joined the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Also, I have two classes at the moment (Friday evening and Saturday morning) and will add more classes when there is enough committed students for each day.
