The understanding that dogs served an important purpose, and teaching a dog to fulfill a working purpose has always fascinated her. While finding a moderate level of success in the world of herding with her Sheltie, she studied and developed the curriculum for behavior modification clinics. She launched her first behavior modification clinic in 2004 in Long Beach, CA. This started her journey of studying behavior modification in people and animals. She has been a part of many studies and clinical trials for a variety of behavior modification research throughout her graduate degree programs. She has also trained service assistance dogs in the disciplines of auditory assistants and mobility assistants. In 2014, she switched her focus to training Search and Rescue dogs for both rescue and recovery disciplines. She currently leads the K9 Section of Alabama Task Force 1, which is a disaster response team.</span></div>
