Nest Artist Resident Scratch Night
$15
Thursday 19 June @ 7pm - 10pm. A sharing of work in progress from Suitcase in Point’s Nest Artist Residents; Michael Cicchini, Kosar Dakhilalian, Ren Reid and Sahar Saeidi. Each will share excerpts of the work they have been creating since January 2025, as they continue to build their work for a special showcase in September 2025. Witness these incredible artists as test out their original work and be a part of it all from the ground up.
Michael Cicchini combines spirituality and theatre in The Journey of Chance: an intimate tarot-reading that provides a tiny pocket-world for self-introspection.
Kosar Dakhilalian’s Pomegranate and Feathers is an attempt to weave stories of Niagara and its people with myths, borrowing from Greek mythology.
Ren Reid’s Menace to Society follows a clown as they struggle to survive under the rule of a ruthless King. Will they end his reign of terror, or crumble under the oppressive oligarchy? It’s clown meets drag in a crazy twist and turn of events where being a clown is no joke.
Sahar Saeidi shares her interest in the (often cliché) ways we speak about ordinary things; the mysterious and unearned protection of LUCK; how we make boring and muddled taboos of everyday life; how is the very specific thing that she’s talking about something you’ve also experienced? With It is and isn’t, Sahar shares her curiosity about how different people use different words to give the same answer: “I don’t know but I know!”
