This class is intended for people to drop the deck (if they want) from their working mower and come out to race. BLADES MUST BE REMOVED This will be the first experience racing for some folks and could be the start of something great. This is the only class where rear engined mowers are allowed. The racing will be really close as long as the rules are followed.

AGE: Minimum age to race is 10, parental consent is required under the age of 18

ENGINE: All residential mower commercially sold vertical and horizontal shaft engines as they were delivered from the factory. The maximum allowable displacement is 49 cubic inches. Engine mods are limited to exhaust only, which should point toward the ground away from racer. Engine must be governed to max 3750 RPM.

STEERING: Stock steering is acceptable and in good operating condition.

DRIVELINE: The transaxle / transmission must be as delivered from the factory. Must retain stock pulleys, factory wheelbase and track, as well as factory ride height.

BODYWORK: No performance modifications allowed. Cosmetic modifications allowed at the discretion of the organiser.

RIMS/TIRES: Stock and bolt-on rear wheels are allowed as delivered from the factory. Tires must as be delivered from the factory.

Super Stock Class
$15

CLASS: Super Stock

This class is the next step in the search for speed with minimal modifications allowed. Super Stock

encourages you to develop your mechanical skills, gradually. The racing will be really close as long as the

rules are followed.

AGE: Minimum age to race is 14, parental consent is required under the age of 18

ENGINE: All vertical and horizontal shaft engines as they were delivered from the factory. The maximum

allowable displacement is 49 cubic inches. Engine modifications are limited to exhaust only, which should

point toward the ground away from racer. Engine must be governed to max 4000 RPM.

PULLEYS: The drive pulleys may be changed from stock. FOR THE 2026 SEASON the pulleys must not be

cast iron part as it may come apart (explode) at the high rpm it will now experience.

STEERING: Stock steering with minimal slop / play is acceptable but direct (kart style) steering is

recommended. No handlebars.

DRIVELINE: The transaxle / transmission may have the differential locked and have the reverse chain

removed. Must retain factory ride height, wheelbase and track.

BRAKES: Stock brakes are acceptable. The driver must be able to stop the mower within a reasonable

distance.

BODYWORK: Body modifications to facilitate lowering of the seat are allowed. No other performance

modifications allowed. Any wheelie bars must be limited to 18” maximum from the rear tires.

RIMS/TIRES: Rear rims maximum diameter allowed is 10”, front rim maximum diameter is 6”. Tires must

be standard Turf Saver, Turf Master style patterns as shown in the General Requirements.

Modified Class
$15

CLASS: Modified

This class is the next step in the search for speed with a higher level of modifications allowed. The

Modified Single class encourages you to control your costs while building a single cylinder machine that

you can upgrade to a Twin when you are ready. The build options are wider and wilder!

NOTE! This class may be split up into MOD SINGLE and MOD TWIN if racer numbers allow.

AGE: Minimum age to race is 14, parental consent is required under the age of 18

SINGLE ENGINE: A vertical single cylinder shaft flathead or OHV engine is required; maximum allowable displacement is 33 cubic inches (549 cc). External modifications are allowed. The use of a billet flywheel is optional but recommended. No internal mods other than upgrading the valve spring retainers to a retainer with split keepers as a reliability consideration. The governor may be deleted, however RPM not to exceed 4500 unless billet flywheel is installed.

Bypassing the governor is not recommended.

TWIN ENGINE: A vertical shaft twin cylinder flathead or V-Twin engine is required, maximum allowable

displacement is 49 cubic inches (810 cc) for OHV engines and 46 cubic inches (750 cc) for flathead twins.

PULLEYS: The drive pulleys may be changed from stock. THE 2026 SEASON The rear pulley must not be a re-used cast iron part as it may come apart (explode) at high rpm.

STEERING: Stock steering rod ends must be upgraded, and steering slop minimised. Direct (kart style)

steering is recommended. No handlebars.

DRIVELINE: The transaxle may have the differential locked and have the reverse chain removed. The use

of a transmission with a live axle is allowed. 1” is the minimum recommended size.

BRAKES: Stock brakes are acceptable. The driver must be able to stop the mower within a reasonable

distance.

BODYWORK: Modifications to support lowering of the seat and tire clearance are allowed. Any wheelie

bars must be limited to 18” maximum from the rear tires

RIDE HEIGHT: The minimum clearance between the frame and ground is 4”.

BUMPERS: A rear bumper is required per the general requirements. No other rear bumpers are

permitted, even those offered as factory options. Side bars are not required.
