Join local artist Anna Murfin & Make Me Brand New for an afternoon of inspirational upcycling.  On March 21, Anna will be leading a Mandala painting workshop. Mandala painting is a technique for creating geometric patterns and designs within a circle or square. For centuries, Mandalas have been used for meditation, healing, and self-expression. The repetitive patterns are meant to relax the viewer so they are used as a form of art therapy.  Taking this activity to the next level, we add in an element of sustainability by using vinyl records as the base. All records were rescued by Make Me Brand New to avoid them ending up in a landfill or worse and together we'll transform what some considered trash into works of art. Each person will be given 12 inch cleaned record that is a pallet ready for your creative process. Various tools and instruments will be provided as we guide you through techniques to bring out patterns, symmetry and the intricate designs unique to your experience. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just starting out, this workshop is designed to meet you at your creative level. Make a one-of-a-kind piece, a heartfelt gift, or a keepsake to treasure for years to come.
