Nepali language, culture, and tradition represent the core of our existence; even more when we are far away from our motherland. One of the major goals of NCNC is to preserve and promote our rich language, culture, and tradition to our local communities, especially the young children; and NCNC Nepali Pathshala has served as the key tool to fulfill these goals for a number of years.  Nepali Pathshala enrollment is now open for the school year 2025 (January - September). The children will be assigned to one of the four levels (basic, intermediate, upper intermediate, advanced) based on their Nepali language proficiency.  - The second hour is optional and will include extra-curricular activities, like dance, madal, yoga, etc. We highly encourage parents or anyone in the community with such skills to come forward and teach the younger generation. Non-eligible students may be dismissed. Registration Early Deadline:  December 15, 2024 Cost: $100 per child for school year 2025The cost will go up by $25 per child after December 15, 2024, subject to space availability. Enrollments are on a first-come-first-serve basis.The enrollment fee will be used to cover operational expenses like facility rental and teaching materials and is due at the time of enrollment. There are 34 classes scheduled, therefore, the cost of $100 comes down to $1.50 per hour per child. Please reach out to us at <a href="mailto:ncnc@ncnepal.org">ncnc@ncnepal.org</a> if you have financial difficulty or need assistance in enrolling your child(ren). Deadline for Nepali Pathshala Enrollment: December 31, 2024.  We need to plan pathshala logistics, therefore, we will be closing the enrollment at the end of the year. You will not be able to enroll your child(ren) in Nepali Pathshala after the deadline.  If you would like to pay cash/check instead of enrolling through Zeffy, please contact Ramesh Oli (214-566-5803) and Ishwor Dhakal (919-400-3265) before December 31, 2024. Please note that Zeffy assigns a default % of tuition cost to cover Zeffy's administrative fees. While you may choose to change the % to zero, we recommend donating at least 2-3% to Zeffy so that we can continue to use their platform free of charge.  Expectations from parents/guardians - Please join a Facebook group for the pathshala, a link will be shared after enrolling your child. Announcements and updates will be made through the Facebook group. - Parents should be willing to volunteer at the school as needed, e.g. during setup, tear-down or extra curricular activities. - Parents should drop off and pick up their children on time. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before the school is scheduled to end, and pickup ONLY after the teachers have dismissed them from their class. - Please be mindful that the pathshala is run entirely by volunteers. All the volunteers, including teachers, are taking time out of their schedule to come support the school.
