Perkins' Good Earth Farm Airbnb 2 Night Stay
US$125
Starting bid
Place yourself right in the beauty of the land and nature in this cozy tiny home at Perkins' Good Earth Farm. The tiny home has a loft bedroom, bathroom with shower and composting toilet, kitchen, sitting area, and deck. You'll be surrounded by organic vegetable fields, 11 acres of woods, walking trails--and within perfect view of both the sunrise and sunset. You'll also have easy access to our farm store where you'll find fresh fruits & veggies, homemade soups & salads and so much more.
The space
Bedroom:
The cozy bedroom is in the loft, accessible by a short staircase with handles for support. The height from floor to ceiling at the center point is 3 ft 2 inches. Windows looks out onto the farm and woods.
Sitting room: The sitting area is made up of a comfortable day bed/bench with beautiful throw pillows and a cozy blanket. We provide lap trays, as well as a foldable bistro table and chairs, to make this into a dining area.
Kitchen: The kitchen includes a small refrigerator, two-burner gas stove, microwave, sink and drying rack, coffee pot, tea kettle, and all the cooking basics.
Bathroom: Our bathroom includes a compost toilet (directions included—it’s easy to use!) and shower. Fluffy white towels and wash clothes, shampoo, conditioner and body soap are also provided.
Deck Area: Step right outside your door onto a deck with a table and chairs. Directly next to the tiny home we provide a grill and picnic table.
Outdoors: We have a lovely play area and sitting area called Tracie Park next to our farm stand. We also have both wooded and prairie trails to help you enjoy our 20 acre farm.
Guest access
The tiny home will be completely private, just for you. The laundry area, which is in our farm stand, is shared.
Perkins Barn Loft:
Find peace and restoration in this beautiful barn loft at Perkins' Good Earth Farm. The loft has a bedroom, separate shower and toilet spaces, work area, sitting room, kitchen space, and heating/cooling fresh air system. Located above our farm store, the loft provides privacy for you while giving you access to fresh fruits & veggies, locally sourced meats, homemade soups & salads from our farm kitchen, and so much more. You can also walk our farm trails, visit the veggies, or enjoy a campfire.
The space
This 450 square space was part of our barn restoration project in 2018-20. We kept the original footprint of the 100-year-old barn, then made one section into a vegetable wash shed, another into our farm stand and commercial kitchen, and the old hay loft into a beautiful living space we call the barn loft.
We repurposed as many materials as possible during the construction, from the original barn door and hinges in the loft, to the tin ceiling in the farm stand, to 80-year-old cedar electrical poles that we locally milled and used for the walls and ceiling in the loft.
Perkins' Good Earth Farm is a working organic farm. The barn loft is located above our farm store, open seasonally Mondays-Fridays 9-5 and Saturdays 9-noon.
Bedroom:
On the south side of the loft is a cozy queen sized bed under a large window looking out onto the farm and woods.
Sitting Room/Additional Beds:
The sitting area has a pull-out couch and futon, both of which can be converted into sleeping areas. Blankets and sheets for these areas are easily accessible in the wooden box in the sitting area. If you want these beds made up for you ahead of time, just let us know and we can accomodate you. Three windows provide natural light and a view into Tracie Park.
Kitchenette:
Our kitchenette includes a fridge, microwave, knives, cutting boards, glasses, mugs, plates, bowls, cutlery, tongs, a beautiful handmade salad bowl, tea towels, coffee pot, pour-over coffee pot, kitchen scale, tea kettle, and compost container. When you're finished with your dishes, simply put them in the labeled bin, bring them downstairs to our farm kitchen, and we'll wash them and get them back to you.
Bathroom:
Our bathroom area can be separated from the rest of the loft simply by sliding the barn door into place. Fluffy white towels and washcloths, as well as make-up cloths, are provided.
Desk/Piano:
Whether you're working remotely or just want to jot down some thoughts, we have a Shaker desk ready for your needs. A piano provides one more way to relax.
Outdoors:
Right out your door is Tracie Park, our outdoor eating and play area. We also have both wooded and prairie trails to help you enjoy our 20 acre farm.
Guest access
The barn loft will be completely private, just for you. The laundry area, which is below in the farm stand, is shared. In order to get to the barn loft, you will need to walk through the farm stand and up stairs. You will have an access code for the door to the barn loft.
Other things to note
Our farm is a working farm, open seasonally Mondays-Fridays 9-5 and Saturdays 9-noon. Our staff usually begins work 1-2 hours before we open. They are quiet during those earlier hours, but there is also a box fan available under the queen bed if you want to pro-actively block out any potential noise.
