When guiding a youth through these reflections, having a parent or guardian in the room can create complex dynamics, sometimes offering support, and sometimes unintentionally shifting the youth&#39;s willingness to be vulnerable. This professional development session is a collaborative space for our restorative facilitators to look closely at our 6-question pilot. Together, we will explore how ACEs impact a young person&#39;s nervous system and response to conflict, and share practical strategies for holding a safe, trauma-informed space for the youth while constructively managing the parent&#39;s presence in the room.
