Hello STARS supporters! We are excited to kick off the new 2025-2026 school year by opening up PTO membership enrollment. The cost to join the PTO is $10 per family, $20 if you’d like to sponsor a family membership, $50 for business membership, and as always, teachers can join at no cost!   Looking for a way to support the PTO without feeling obligated to volunteer or participate? Select the “opt-out” option for $100.  **To avoid paying an added % fee to your membership, change the calculated % to "0" before check out! *** What does your annual dues include?   <ul><li>Invitation to our new Facebook page- the current page will be archived on August 29th</li><li>Entry to win the carline fast pass for the 2025-2026 school year (double entry when you purchase the sponsor a family membership!) *</li><li>Exclusive access to reserve the spirit rock (members will receive sign up information before being accessible to non-members) **</li><li>Ability to vote at PTO meetings when a vote is required (passing the annual budget, voting in board elections) </li><li>Ability to run for a board position - you must be a paid member to run for a board position</li></ul> What does your annual dues cover?  The annual dues cover administration costs associated with running our PTO each year. The PTO is a separate entity from the school and relies solely on membership dues and fundraising efforts to operate. Some of our typical costs include website hosting fees, printing supplies for events and fundraisers, accountant costs to file our required tax paperwork to keep in good standing with the IRS. This year we are hoping to offer childcare during meetings, the dues will help cover that expense. Our projected operation costs for this coming school year are estimated to be $1,700.00.  Do I have to join to volunteer or support the PTO? Joining the PTO is not a requirement to volunteer at a PTO event, attend meetings, or support a PTO event.  Paying dues and becoming a member is one way to support us, so we can better serve the school community.  Ok, I’ll join, what now?  After you have filled out your membership form and submitted payment we will send you a Facebook invite to the new private group. On the enrollment form there are questions that based on your answer will be followed up on by a member of our board.  Why is this changing?  To date, we have almost 700 members on the private STARS PTO facebook group. Last year, the total number of enrolled PTO members was 130. We are thrilled the page is growing because it is an excellent source of information for parents and caregivers, and it provides an outlet for questions that other members are able to answer. We recognize safety as a concern and to help reach current enrolled families this is a way we can ensure information reaches the right audience. If you aren’t sure about signing up yet and are interested in learning more, come to one of our end of summer meet- ups or please stop by our back to school night table and meet us!  * Join the PTO before August 28th, 2025 to guarantee entry. The drawing for the carline fast pass will take place at our first PTO meeting which is scheduled for Friday August 29th @ 1:30pm - you do not need to be present to win! The drawing will be live during the meeting using a random name generator.  **Spirit Rock sign up information will be e-mailed to enrolled members by August 11th. Open sign ups for non-members will be made available August 29th.
