VBB STORY

Local businessman, Brad Lind started the Veterans Backyard Bash in 2020. Brad‘s mission was and still is, to help veterans with

their financial medical needs that will help to ease their burdens and live a more enriched and fulfilled life. Brad formed a board and a committee and began work on his goal.

Each year, the Veterans Backyard Bash helps veterans through our partnership with the Community Benefit Tree. Community Benefit

Tree is a valuable resource providing assistance and options for veterans including information on applying for aid from the Veterans Backyard Bash.

TESTIMONIALS

Words cannot express how grateful I am to have found out that the Community Benefit Tree had contacted us regarding

an event called the Veterans Backyard Bash and that my son Charlie was nominated to be the recipient. This could not have happened at a better time when things were looking so grim.

Thank you for being so supportive through these challenging times. It has helped my son Charlie and his children get through the unexpected hurdles that they have encountered along the way. Being a proud man as Charlie is, I could see being on the receiving end has been hard for him. Accepting help when he is accustomed to being the one who has been there to help others.

We thank God for the support the Veterans Backyard Bash has given to us, Charlie was able to focus on his rehabilitation knowing that his children and everything he has worked hard for was being taken care of.

Thank you for everything you all have done

Tammy Robinson~ William "Charlie" Wilson mother

Words cannot express how thankful our family is for this generous gift; it came at a good time and helped with our outstanding bills and living expenses. It was truly a surprise and unexpected. We were invited to a Veterans Backyard Bash board meeting where

we were presented with a check and got to meet the wonderful volunteers that make all this happen. We appreciate what your organization is doing for the veteran community."

The Veteran's Backyard Bash was awesome in helping my family with the funds we needed to pay for Rod's medical bills. We are so ever Grateful!

Marilyn and I are deeply humbled by the generosity of both The Veteran’s Backyard Bash and The Community Benefit Tree, for

the support through what has been the most dicult year of our lives. To know and understand that there is financial benefit available to us, in case of future needs, is indeed life altering. Our deepest thanks to all for your willingness to help and support a fellow veteran during this very challenging journey. With much gratitude and humility.

By winter of 2021 I was in a very dark place. My health had left me bedridden and my husband was put on a year of forced unpaid leave. Just when I had given up all hope, I found out that I was going to receive assistance from The Veteran's Backyard Bash. They paid for

my medical treatment that wasn't covered by the VA. After three years of struggling with my day to day life, the treatment I am receiving has finally worked and I am getting better. Without The Veteran's Backyard Bash I'd still be bedridden and possibly even just another

homeless veteran. They quite literally saved my life.
