The We Cancerve Movement, Inc., a Bel Air-based nonprofit organization that brings happiness to some of Central Maryland’s most vulnerable youth, is teaming with Empire Dojo, an Abingdon jujutsu studio, on a kick and punch event to raise funds for children fighting cancer. The event is Saturday, September 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Empire Dojo, 3101 Emmorton Road, Abingdon, Md. For $10, participants of all ages can test their warrior strength in two-minute kick and punch drills organized by age categories. The individual with the most kicks and punches against a martial bag in each age group will win a prize.    All proceeds from this event benefit the We Cancerve Pediatric Patient Assistance Fund at Sinai. The fund provides financial assistance to families of pediatric cancer patients facing overwhelming medical expenses and covers out-of-pocket expenses such as gas and grocery cards, hospital copays, over-the-counter medication, in-hospital costs like coffee, lunch or parking, and even comfort items for the pediatric patient like new pajamas or a toy.
