A Musical Salute to our HomeTown Heroes!&nbsp;Alumni Players! and American Legion Post 199 are joining forces to celebrate Edwardsville&rsquo;s WWII history. &nbsp;And what a show it&rsquo;s going to be!&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Join us on Thursday, June 5 and Friday, June 6 as we kick off the Route 66 Festival with a musical tribute to the men and women of Edwardsville who bravely and faithfully served our country at home and abroad during WWII. &nbsp;&ldquo;Swingin&rsquo; On a Star&rdquo; will transport you back to Edwardsville&rsquo;s very own Bohm Ballroom, circa 1944, to experience an evening of real-life stories lifted right off the front pages of the The Intelligencer,&nbsp;along with a Hit Parade of America&rsquo;s favorite swing tunes performed for your dancing and listening pleasure.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The evening begins at 6:00pm outdoors on the grounds of the American Legion Post with&nbsp;Vintage WWII Military Vehicles staged by the 2nd Ranger Battalion of St. Louis along with the music of &quot;Diz&quot; Strohman Swing Band, so come early and re-visit a part of America&rsquo;s military history.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;At&nbsp;7:00pm the Ballroom doors will open for drinks and informal dance lessons before the show!Then at 8:00pm,&nbsp;the lights dim, and you will become the studio audience as our troupe of Edwardsville&rsquo;s finest singers, actors and musicians &ldquo;broadcast&rdquo; the performance &ldquo;across the airwaves and to all the ships at sea&rdquo; on Station WEDW: 66 On Your Radio Dial.
