Every Cat Deserves a Second Chance Every day, somewhere in Saskatchewan, a cat needs help. An injured stray is searching for safety. A litter of kittens is born without shelter. A mother cat is doing everything she can to protect her babies. A community is reaching out because there are cats in need and nowhere else to turn. These are the realities behind rescue, and the reason SOS Prairie Rescue exists.Since 2019, we've helped more than 4,000 cats through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and community-based programs. Some arrive needing little more than safety and routine veterinary care. Others face complicated medical conditions, lengthy recoveries, or challenges that require months of patience and specialized support. Whatever their journey, reaching safety is only the beginning. Your Donation Makes This Work Possible SOS Prairie Rescue is a registered Saskatchewan charity supported by foster families, volunteers, dedicated staff, veterinary professionals, and community partners.Your generosity helps us provide:

Emergency veterinary treatment, hospitalization, and surgery

Spay/neuter procedures, vaccinations, and preventative care

Medications, rehabilitation, and ongoing medical support

Food, litter, and essential foster supplies

Transportation to veterinary appointments and safe placements

The resources needed to coordinate and sustain rescue operations

Behind every rescue is a commitment to seeing that cat through. Sometimes that means a few weeks of care. Sometimes it means many months. Your donation helps us honour that commitment. Rescue Is Only Part of the Solution We know we cannot rescue our way out of cat overpopulation. That's why SOS also works to prevent suffering through accessible spay/neuter programs, humane community cat management, education, and partnerships that improve access to veterinary care. We believe lasting change also requires stronger animal welfare standards, greater accountability, and better responses when vulnerable animals need protection. Our goal isn't simply to help more cats. It's to help build a Saskatchewan where fewer cats need rescuing in the first place. Rescue Doesn't Happen Alone A foster opens their home. A volunteer gives their time. A veterinarian provides care. An adopter makes a lifelong commitment. And donors help make that work possible. Whether you choose to make a one-time gift or become a monthly supporter, you're helping us care for the cats already depending on SOS while supporting the work needed to create lasting change. Thank you for standing with SOS Prairie Rescue. The cats may never know your name, but your kindness can change the course of their lives.
