Hi my name is Janice John-Mitchell and I am raising Funds For the sudden loss of Mary Goldiet. It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of our beloved friend, Mary Goldiet, who passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Mary was a remarkable woman whose kindness, compassion, and courage touched countless lives. She was a devoted wife to her husband, William, and a loving mother to five children. Her youngest daughter is only 13 years old and is now facing the heartbreaking loss of her mother. For years, Mary stood beside William as his life partner, confidante, source of strength, and quiet wisdom. Together, their lives connected communities and continents, from the Philippines and Sudan to Lebanon and Canada. Mary was also a passionate human rights advocate, particularly in the fight against human trafficking. Her work in Lebanon and here on Vancouver Island reflected her deep commitment to protecting vulnerable people and giving a voice to those who often had none. She welcomed people without judgment, offered comfort to families in difficult circumstances, and quietly made a difference wherever she could. Mary's passing was sudden and has left her family and everyone who knew her facing an unimaginable loss. At this difficult time, we are asking our community, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives Mary touched to come together in support of her family. We are raising funds to assist William and their five children with the unexpected funeral and related expenses following Mary's sudden passing, and to help the family honour her life with the dignity, love, and respect she deserves. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference to the family during this incredibly difficult time. If you are unable to contribute financially, sharing this appeal and keeping William, the children, and the entire family in your thoughts would also mean so much. Mary gave so much of herself to others. Now, it is our turn to stand beside her family. May Mary Goldiet's memory continue to be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
