This reading celebrates that history, featuring four writers from three generations with deep connections to art, each bringing different perspectives to the relationship between literature and the fine arts in Vancouver. Featured Artists Aaron Peck is the author of Jeff Wall: North & West, Letters to the Pacific, and The Bewilderments of Bernard Willis. A seasoned critic, he currently writes for the Times Literary Supplement and Aperture magazine. Colin Browne's most recent books are Here (poetry, 2020) and Entering Time: The Fungus Man Platters of Charles Edenshaw (prose, 2016). He is completing a book about the journeys to the Northwest Coast by Surrealists Kurt Seligmann, Wolfgang Paalen, Alice Rahon, and Eva Sulzer in 1938 and 1939. Steff Huì Cí Ling 林惠慈 is a cultural worker, labour researcher, and occasional critic and film programmer living as a guest on the unceded territories of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ / Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations.
