The Group of 78 is pleased to invite you to participate in this year’s annual policy conference on the topic Preventing and Stopping Violence: Effective Actions to Curtail Conflict.  The event will run from September 26 to October 2.  All sessions will be virtual on Zoom but the opening day on Sept. 26 will also be in-person at the University of Ottawa (in FSS 4007) in Ottawa. We are bringing together what we believe is an impressive array of presenters who will explain cases of successful peace actions and explore lessons for policymakers and practitioners to lessen the degree of conflict in the world.  With the news heavily laden with coverage of conflict and violence – community, domestic, and international – we think it’s important to focus on “what works” to stop, even prevent, the mayhem.   The Outline and Program for the conference are available at our website (<a href="https://group78.org/event/g78-2023-annual-policy-conference/">https://group78.org/event/g78-2023-annual-policy-conference/</a>)  We have priced access to the conference at low rates to make it available to anyone interested in the theme.At the same time, it costs the Group of 78 considerably to mount an event like this and to continue operating.  We strongly encourage all participants to make a voluntary contribution to enable us to mount high-quality events with open accessibility and to follow them up with advocacy for peace, justice, and survival.
