On a dark and stormy night, two members of The Strumbellas pulled themselves on the shore of a deserted island after watching their ship sink beneath the waves. They’d managed to salvage their instruments but little else so Isabel Ritchie (violin) and Jon Hembrey (guitar) sat down to play some Irish traditional music to pass the time.

The brooding sounds and ancient melodies soon drew fellow castaways Matt Marshall (bodhran) and Brent Borland (mandolin) into the fold.
