Do you know the expectations of the genre you are writing in?&nbsp; In this workshop, participants will be bringing in their stories and working on the plots, based on six common plot structures. Plots are a framework, and attendees will learn how to use them to help direct the story and make sure theirs hits the right beats. The plot structures that will be discussed in this workshop are: Three Act Structure, Five Act Structure, Hero&#39;s journey, Heroine&#39;s journey, Save the Cat, and Romancing the Beat.&nbsp; Participants are welcome to bring brand new or in progress stories.&nbsp; This event will be held at Northland Dodge&#39;s meeting room, on the upper level.&nbsp; About the presenter: Amber Ingham is a speculative fiction author, editor, and poet, writing under the pen name Asha Jade Goodwin and living on the unceded ancestral territory of the Lheidl T&#39;enneh in Prince George, BC. A lifelong writer, she has run a local writing group for the past decade. She&#39;s hosted workshops, written pep talks, and organized many province-wide virtual events over the years. Amber also runs Winter Jewel Publishing, an indie publisher dedicated to uplifting Canadian voices through themed anthologies. Amber believes strongly in the power of community, and loves to bring people together. The workshop is upstairs in the dealership board room which is at the main stairs and then down the end of the hall. Attendees are asked to park on the street if possible (along Recreation Avenue), or the north end of the dealership parking lot.
