Delivering spring-toned rainbows in the daylight and UV reactive yellows under black light, the On Point Shawl will have you keeping warm while serving looks regardless of the time of day. Republic of Yarnia is a historian and indie yarn dyer in Ireland who takes inspiration from Black figures in art history. The colours of Tulips Illuminated was inspired by a late medieval illuminated manuscript from an Italian Book of Hours featuring a gorgeous person of colour in a vibrant prayer room.

Kaschelle is a disabled fibre artist who discovered crochet while bedridden with ME. Looking for a horizontal activity to occupy her time, she picked up a crochet hook and fell immediately in love. With a focus on garments, Kaschelle loves creating custom clothing pieces from cozy everyday wearables to fantastical hoods and festival hats…especially in vibrant and neon colours.

misha (@emotional.art.studio) is a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent multidisciplinary artist of Russian origin working out of Tiohtià:ke also known as Montréal. In their work they explore themes of gender identity, sexuality, disability, immigration, and mental health. They do so through mediums of digital art, photography, and traditional studio mediums. When they aren’t trying to make the revolution irresistible through art (Tony Cade Bambara) they can be found studying sexology, involved in community organizing, or trying a new vegan recipe.

Artist Bio

Jasonda Desmond is a self-taught textile and bioplastics artist and illustrator who uses visual storytelling to imbue her work with a sense of magical realism inspired by the living energy of nature – those seen and unseen elements of the earth that enmesh us with the universe and each other. Jasonda identifies as disabled, neurodivergent and queer. She was born in Texas, USA, immigrated to Canada in 2004, and is currently living in Burnaby, BC (hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking peoples lands). Always creative as a child, Jasonda began her art practice by creating surface designs in Microsoft Paint as a teenager. In 2019 she transitioned her practice to ink and watercolour and cultivated a vibrant, graphic style of illustrating portraits and florals. In 2022, she started experimenting with textile-based jewelry and developing her own art materials from plant-based bioplastics. Jasonda is currently focused on creating fine and wearable art pieces made from her proprietary bioplastic materials and is seeking opportunities to collaborate with other artists and creators.

"Dolly Parton's life and music has always been a personal and artistic inspiration for me. After hearing of her passing, I had planned to create a commemorative portrait of her. Knowing that she was a strong public supporter of the trans community, when I heard about the call for the auction, I felt that my portrait had found a home! I drew inspiration for this work from her freespirited song "Wildflowers", and like to imagine that if there is an afterlife, a style icon like her must be experimenting with amazing new hairstyles that go far beyond the limits of earth's physics."
