Come out and assist with planting new fruit trees and berry bushes in our community food forest! With support from Tree Canada's Community Tree Grants, we are thrilled to have a variety of new fruiting and food bearing bushes and trees coming to the lower terraces of our beloved Means of Production Garden.A few of the trees originally planted in 2003, are needing replacement to allow us to maintain a healthy food forest, and we are thrilled to have the financial support to do this work but need community volunteers to get the work done so we can all continue to enjoy the bounty of the garden in years to come!Wear closed toe shoes appropriate for the steep hillside with uneven terrain. Please bring your own garden gloves if you can, and your own teacup for break. All tools provided. A light nourishing snack will be provided at break time, bringing your own lunch or snacks to share is encouraged. This work is rain or shine, but our date may be postponed if extreme weather is forecast.Volunteers need to be a minimum of 12 with each young person accompanied by an adult. Your pre- registration is requested to allow us to plan both the work and hospitality at breaktime.
