Nature-Friendly Yards is back for Season 2! We&rsquo;re kicking off our fall season with a field trip to Notch Hill Community Growers, a permaculture-inspired farm in the South Shuswap. We&rsquo;ll explore several different approaches to growing with nature, including their xeriscape garden, Miyawaki forest, and ongoing conversion of annual beds to a Syntropic Food Forest. We&rsquo;ll also head up the hillside to see how they have been working to increase organic matter in the soil to help it hold more water. It&rsquo;s a chance to see these approaches in practice, ask questions, and consider what ideas we might adapt to our own yards. Getting there and carpooling Notch Hill Community Growers is near Sorrento, so we encourage participants to carpool from Kamloops. If you can offer a ride or need a ride, let us know when you register and we&rsquo;ll help connect participants before the event. Please bring water, comfortable walking shoes, and clothing appropriate for the weather. Carpooling information, and final details will be sent to registered participants before the event.
