Nina Simone. Etta James. They didn&#39;t just sing, they refused to stay quiet, play small, or fit into anyone&#39;s idea of what a woman was supposed to sound like. Hamilton has its own jazz history. Billie sang at Hanrahan Tavern in 1951. Duke Ellington recorded here in 1954. During Prohibition, jazz thrived in the city&#39;s underground clubs. This concert brings that legacy forward with 80+ voices and Hamilton mezzo-soprano&nbsp;C&eacute;line Cascanette, performing standards like &quot;At Last,&quot; &quot;God Bless the Child,&quot; and &quot;Blue Skies.&quot; It&#39;s music you know, sung by your neighbours, in a way you might not expect.
