WHY DO WE DO THIS APPEAL?Many children and families in our communities continue to be affected by the challenges of recent years, and for some, the winter months ahead may bring additional financial pressures. Christmas should be a time of joy, excitement and togetherness, but for many families, it can also be a difficult time. By donating a gift to a child in our local community &mdash; Musselburgh, Prestonpans, Cockenzie, Port Seton, Longniddry and Blindwells &mdash; you can help make Christmas a little brighter and extra special for them. Through our link with the Pennypit Trust, who work tirelessly throughout the year to support local families, we are aware that over 650 families in our community currently require support. This year marks the FIFTH year of The Angel Tree Appeal, and we have seen first-hand the incredible difference that your generosity can make. Every gift, no matter how big or small, can bring a smile to a child&#39;s face and help a family experience the magic of Christmas. We are particularly keen to support older children and teenagers, who can sometimes be overlooked when it comes to Christmas giving. Angel Trees will also be located in a number of community centres, local golf clubs, Royal British Legions and participating local shops, giving you plenty of opportunities to get involved. Each Angel Tag represents a child and will include their age, gender and Christmas wish. If you would like to help, simply choose an Angel Tag from the tree, purchase the gift and return it to one of our collection points. Prefer to donate a voucher or gift? These can be handed in at your local participating library, community centre or golf club, where they will be collected and distributed as part of the appeal. Would you prefer to make a cash donation? Gift envelopes will be available at participating locations. Your donation will be used to purchase a suitable gift for a child in our community.
