Learn to knit socks from the ground up 🧶🧦&nbsp;This is a six-week course that will aim to demystify knitting with 4 double point needles, also known as &quot;dpns&quot;. No experience of knitting in the round with 4 double pointed needles is needed. We will have people of differing experiences and expectations who can work together so we all learn how to knit socks. This sock will be a &lsquo;practice piece&rsquo; for you to learn on. If you cannot make the full 6 weeks you can book for each date you are able to attend. Each week will progress from casting on and using the 4 needles &lsquo;in the round&rsquo; - to make the cuff, down the leg to the heel flap, heel turning, making the foot and then the toe shaping: ending with the &lsquo;Kitchener&rsquo; stitch closure. Tools &amp; MaterialsPlease bring with you a ball of sock or 4 ply yarn. The yarn works best with some wool content, but you can choose other yarns if you prefer, or if there&rsquo;s an issue with wool. Needles:&nbsp;socks require a closer fabric to be knitted, thus 4 x 2.25, 2.5 or 2.75 mm double-point needles (dpns) will be needed, depending on if you are a loose or tight knitter. Yarn and/or needles may be purchased on the course if needed.
