Scraplanta's MissionScraplanta Inc. is a non-profit whose mission is to promote environmental awareness, education, and artistic expression to the greater Atlanta community through the collection and reuse of materials for arts and crafts. Scraplanta’s Work:Scraplanta is formally described as a Creative Reuse Center. Creative Reuse Centers inspire the community to donate unused craft supplies and repurpose discarded materials into art.   Scraplanta’s mission consists of three main components: a retail store collecting and re-selling donated materials for arts and crafts, on-going series of “pay what you can” creative craft workshops for children and adults and partnerships with schools and other organizations to provide low-cost supplies and art programs. At the Scraplanta Retail Store, we sell art supplies at extremely low price points to dramatically reduce the cost barriers for historically underrepresented communities and to make art careers more accessible to emerging artists. The Future of ScraplantaScraplanta's team is working to create a hub for sustainable art careers in Atlanta. In order to achieve our mission, we recognize the need for a second location on the Atlanta's west side. As we fundraise for more space, we are hosting community art activations to engage more Atlantans through creative reuse. We want to continue our partnerships with The Little 5 Points Business Association, Ridwell, PaintLove, and several other local arts and environmental organizations.
