Dear Members and Allies of the Massachusetts Women of Color Network, Inc. (MAWOCN), As we approach  a season filled with celebrations, reflections, and time spent with loved ones, many people in our domestic violence and sexual assault programs will be working and away from loved ones. It is a reality faced by countless advocates —many of whom are women of color—working tirelessly in the domestic and sexual violence (DV/SA) field. These remarkable individuals spend their holidays answering crisis calls, staffing shelters, and standing beside survivors in their darkest hours. They are heroes, yet their work often comes at great personal cost.  Women of color in our field provide essential, life-saving support to survivors, yet they are frequently met with inequity, microaggressions, and an overwhelming lack of structural support. These challenges lead to alarming rates of vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout. Those who advocate for survivors’ well-being often go unseen and unsupported themselves.  During this season, while they secure gifts and resources for the individuals and families they serve, many of these advocates—who are also mothers, friends, and survivors—are struggling to make ends meet. Some are living paycheck to paycheck, juggling multiple jobs, and bearing the emotional weight of their work while still showing up every day to create a better world for survivors.  MAWOCN is committed to letting them know they are seen, valued, and celebrated. We need your help to make that happen.  Our Goal: Raise $16,000 to Uplift and Celebrate Women of Color AdvocatesHere’s how your support will make an impact:<ul><li>$6,000:  Sends 20 WoC service providers on a two-day personal retreat to rest, restore, and recharge for the year ahead.</li><li>$10,000: Provides $50 gift cards to 150 WoC in the DV/SA field, offering much-needed financial relief during this holiday season.</li><li>$18,000: Allows us to host a special “Thank You” dinner featuring cultural food stands representing our network, bringing together WoC, donors, and their families.
