Contribute to this fundraiser and support local Artist, Mary Hope Whitehead Lee! This fundraiser supports BIPOC artists age 55+ in Phoenix who are navigating housing instability. In an effort to meet living expenses while also allowing time to dedicate to their work, working artists (especially not formally educated artists) often work jobs that are low paying and offer little to no benefits. As a result, artists with an extensive body of work are left struggling outside of social safety nets.&nbsp; Art Is Where The Home Is is an arts and mutual aid program in collaboration with local arts organization SOW Art Collective and Casa Caracol, where we work closely with an individual BIPOC artist age 55+ struggling with housing instability to provide funds, resources and professional opportunities to create a stable living situation so the artist can focus on their work without the stress of meeting basic needs.
