From a street cat to a safe foster home and access to the medical care she deserves. I’m so happy for Daphne. Daphne is only a few years old. This past winter, she and her best friend Diamond were trapped at a colony following a horrifying suspected wildlife attack that took the lives of two cats. What should have been an ordinary day for their colony caregiver became a devastating discovery, and an urgent effort began to get the remaining friendly cats to safety. Thankfully, Daphne and Diamond made it out together. They’ve been thriving in foster care, and their foster has fallen so in love with them as a pair that we’ve been waiting for the right home where they can stay together.Recently, Daphne’s foster noticed something unusual about her eating. Our Medical Director examined her the very next day and discovered a severe dental issue that required urgent treatment. We weren’t sure we could find an affordable clinic able to fit Daphne in so quickly, but the wonderful people at Forgotten Cats came through for us! They helped arrange a dental procedure for the very next day, and our Medical Director was even able to assist with the procedure. Daphne needed full mouth extractions. It’s a lot for such a young girl to go through, but the good news is that she’s expected to recover well. She’s currently taking several medications while she heals, and most importantly, she’s no longer living with the pain those uncomfortable teeth were causing. She should be able to enjoy her meals comfortably again. How you can help Daphne Today, because a whole lot of people have given a whole lot of time, love, money, and energy, Daphne was able to get the treatment she needed. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has helped get her this far. From her foster recognizing that something was wrong, to Forgotten Cats helping us secure timely treatment, to every person who has shared our posts or contributed to our rescue, it truly takes a community. But this care comes with a cost, and as a tiny, volunteer run rescue, unexpected medical expenses can put a real strain on our limited resources. We’re raising funds to help cover Daphne’s dental procedure, medications, and related medical expenses. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps us provide necessary care to cats who might otherwise go without it.If you can donate, thank you. If you can’t, sharing Daphne’s fundraiser is another meaningful way to help.Daphne has already survived so much. She deserves the chance to heal, to feel safe, and to spend the rest of her life loved and cared for. From a street cat to a stable foster home and access to medical care, her story is a reminder of what can happen when people come together for an animal in need. Thank you for being part of Daphne’s story.
