This year also marks 25 years since Colleen L. Fraser&#39;s life was lost aboard United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, 2001. Colleen L. Fraser was PCIL&rsquo;s former Executive Director and a nationally respected disability rights advocate. To honor PCIL&rsquo;s 30th anniversary and Colleen&rsquo;s lasting legacy, we are raising $30,000 for the Colleen L. Fraser Fund. Colleen dedicated her life to advancing independent living, disability rights, community inclusion, and the leadership of people with disabilities. She believed that people with disabilities have the right to live in the community, make their own choices, speak for themselves, and be heard by policymakers and public systems. The Colleen L. Fraser Fund continues that legacy by supporting people with disabilities in New Jersey as they develop their voices as advocates, leaders, students, and active participants in community life. Over the years, the Fund has helped remove barriers to advocacy, education, independence, and community participation by supporting conference attendance, ADAPT advocacy participation, college tuition assistance, adaptive equipment, and costs related to wheelchair-accessible transportation. These supports reflect the purpose of the Fund: not simply to provide financial assistance, but to make meaningful investments in independence, advocacy, leadership, education, and opportunity.
