Hidden beneath First Presbyterian Church in downtown Columbiana, The Underground Theater is being transformed from an ordinary lower-level space into an intimate, speakeasy-inspired theater unlike anything else in our area. Two generous donors have pledged a combined $15,000 as a matching gift, which means every dollar our community contributes—up to $15,000—will be doubled, allowing us to invest $30,000 in the theater’s transformation.  Guests will enter through a distinctive hidden-theater entrance and step into a warm, atmospheric space featuring vintage-inspired décor, professional lighting and sound, theatrical curtains, improved staging, and intimate seating just feet from the performers. The flexible design will allow the entire room to be reimagined for each production, surrounding audiences with the story rather than having them simply watch it from a distance. Your gift will help us create an unforgettable home for live theater, comedy, workshops, and community connection right here in Columbiana.
