Join Indigo Theater for “The Cemetery Club” 🎭The Cemetery Club is a warm, witty, and touching dramatic comedy by Ivan Menchell about three longtime friends who meet each month for tea and a visit to their husbands’ graves. Each woman approaches widowhood differently: Doris holds tightly to the past, Lucille is determined to enjoy life again, and Ida quietly wonders whether she might be ready to open her heart to someone new. When they meet Sam, a kind widower with a loss of his own, their friendship is tested by changing loyalties, unexpected romance, and the difficult question of how to honor the past while still embracing the future. Filled with sharp humor, memorable characters, and genuinely moving moments, The Cemetery Club is much more uplifting and much funnier than its title might suggest. Audiences will laugh, relate, and perhaps see a little of themselves in this heartfelt story about friendship, love, loss, and discovering that it is never too late to begin a new chapter.

Hidden beneath First Presbyterian Church in downtown Columbiana, The Underground Theater is being transformed from an ordinary lower-level space into an intimate, speakeasy-inspired theater unlike anything else in our area. Two generous donors have pledged a combined $15,000 as a matching gift, which means every dollar our community contributes—up to $15,000—will be doubled, allowing us to invest $30,000 in the theater’s transformation. Guests will enter through a distinctive hidden-theater entrance and step into a warm, atmospheric space featuring vintage-inspired décor, professional lighting and sound, theatrical curtains, improved staging, and intimate seating just feet from the performers. The flexible design will allow the entire room to be reimagined for each production, surrounding audiences with the story rather than having them simply watch it from a distance. Your gift will help us create an unforgettable home for live theater, comedy, workshops, and community connection right here in Columbiana.
