Help us bring more people into Pickleball As a Mission of our non-profit foundation, I am working to grow pickleball by making the sport welcoming, organized, developmental, and meaningful for players at every level. Through venues such as Founding Member of the Hammond Hills Pickleball Club, Coach of the North Augusta High School Club, Pickleball Coordinator at the North Augusta Family YMCA, and now as a Senior DUPR Volunteer Ambassador, my focus is on creating a clear pathway for new players to enter the sport, learn the basics, build confidence, and quickly feel like they belong. That includes beginner-friendly instruction, organized open play, skills-based groups, warm-up routines, rules education, and a supportive environment where people are encouraged rather than intimidated. I am also helping players improve by connecting casual play with measurable development. Through DUPR-rated play, ladders, assessments, and coaching, I want players to understand their current level, track their progress, and enjoy the challenge of getting better. My goal is to help pickleball move beyond &ldquo;just showing up and playing&rdquo; into a more intentional experience where players can grow physically, mentally, socially, and competitively. Because pickleball is more than a sport, I am also using it as a community-building tool. It brings together men and women, younger and older adults, beginners and experienced athletes, people looking for fitness, friendship, competition, and purpose. I want to help create a culture where people are welcomed, taught, challenged, and connected. In addition to on-court programming, I am developing resources that support the whole player, including mental performance, confidence, focus, resilience, injury prevention, warm-up habits, and brain fitness for pickleball performance. My work with DUPR and BrainTap, to create the Brain Fitness for Pickleball Performance Series for player development is aimed at helping athletes at all levels prepare their mind-state, not just their mechanics, for success in their DUPR Journey. At the heart of everything &nbsp;I am doing in pickleball is a simple mission: bring more people into pickleball, help them feel comfortable staying, give them a pathway to improve, and use the sport to build healthier bodies, sharper minds, stronger relationships, and a better community.
