A yellow school bus with the number 79 on its front is parked in a lot with other buses under a cloudy sky.

The Shepherd’s Ark bus is not just transportation right now.It is shelter. It is animal care space. It is the place where the rescued animals currently entrusted to The Animal Cause are being kept safe while we continue working on placement, partner outreach, and responsible transport pathways. But this Texas heat has made one thing very clear:The bus needs better cooling support and basic maintenance.Right now, we are relying on shade, airflow, fans, water, batteries, and constant monitoring to keep the animals as comfortable and safe as possible. I move the bus for shade, position it for cross-breeze, spray the animals down when needed, and use battery power to keep fans running. But fans and shade are not the same as real cooling. The animals need more margin. The Shepherd’s Ark needs:• independent cooling support for the bus • better power capacity for fans / cooling equipment • fuel support • an oil change • basic maintenance and safety checks • supplies to help keep the animals cool and stableThis is not about comfort or convenience. This is about animal safety. The Animal Cause / The Shepherd’s Ark is rebuilding its transport, placement, and partner-support work, but before we can expand anything, the animals already in our care must be stabilized. They are the first stewardship responsibility.I am attaching photos of the bus tires and the batteries currently being used to power fans because this is the real, physical infrastructure behind the mission. The Ark has to be safe, maintained, and cooled if it is going to continue serving these animals and eventually serve others.Donations right now will go toward bus cooling support, battery/power needs, fuel, an oil change, and immediate animal-care stability.Current goal: $2,000The goal is not frantic rescue. The goal is ordered stewardship — caring faithfully for what has already been entrusted, while building responsible pathways for vulnerable animals to move from crisis toward care.
