Update 3/2/26: WOW! We have already raised over half of our initial goal. Because of your enthusiasm, we are raising our goal for this campaign to $20,000. The additional funding will allow us to upgrade pens throughout the rescue, purchase a refrigerator for the addition, furnish the event room, and start a self-sustaining hydroponic herb garden- bunnies love their parsley! In March 2024, Everybunny Counts Rabbit Rescue made history by opening the first standalone, licensed domestic rabbit rescue facility in the State of Connecticut. In that time, we have rescued and rehabilitated nearly 300 rabbits in need. Our current facility- located in Ellington, Connecticut- has been a beautiful labor of love. Initially obtained through an incredible grant by American Eagle Financial Credit Union, the 2,200 square foot space houses 15-20 rabbits ready for adoption at any time. Our remaining 40 rabbits live in loving foster homes until a space opens up at our adoption center. Additionally, the facility has an adoption and education room where potential adopters can spend time with their new family member, storage space, and combined boarding and office space.&nbsp; As word of our mission has spread, support for our cause has grown, and so have our physical and financial needs.&nbsp; We now have the immediate opportunity to expand our rescue facility by an additional 2,800 square feet, creating a total of 5,000 square feet for our rescue rabbits.&nbsp;The expansion will allow us to have a dedicated room for our sanctuary rabbits, a permanent space for our volunteer-crafted Bunny Boutique, a medical and isolation unit, a nursery for baby bunnies, and a unique event space to hold future fundraisers at no additional cost to us. We will also have the ability to install commercial washer and dryer units into a laundry room, and have a space for emergency intakes waiting for foster homes to become available. The many benefits of this facility addition will be remarkable for our rescue rabbits. The projected renovation and move-in costs for this expansion are $15,000. This figure includes our security deposit, six months&#39; worth of additional rent costs, laundry machine purchase and installation, upgrades required under state law for animal shelters, additional security devices, and cosmetic improvements. In 2024, our supporters helped us raise $10,000 to open our Ellington facility for the first time;&nbsp;we know that you will have our back again as we look to double our physical space to meet our rabbits&#39; needs.&nbsp; Our vision has always been simple: to create a world where every rabbit is safe, happy, and healthy.&nbsp;Ten years ago, we operated out of a small room in a friend&#39;s home.
