Hampshire College is closing, and hundreds of staff and faculty are facing sudden job loss.&nbsp;We (Hampshire Staff and Faculty) are working with a fiscal sponsor* (Sundial Initiative Inc.) to securely receive donations and are building a process with trusted community partners to distribute funds as quickly and fairly as possible. The Emergency Relief Fund provides direct financial assistance for immediate needs, such as housing, food, healthcare, and other essential expenses. Funds raised here will be distributed to affected workers based on need. This initiative is being organized by Hampshire staff, faculty, alumni, and community members. It is independent, fast-moving, and focused on getting support to people rapidly. We recognize that the impacts of job loss are uneven, and that many in our community are navigating intersecting financial and personal pressures. All funds, after platform fees, will be distributed directly to former Hampshire College employees through commonly used payment platforms. A small group of organizers will review requests and allocate funds with care and transparency, aiming to meet needs as fully as possible within the total amount raised.&nbsp; This effort is rooted in mutual support.
