Hannah Brima is a mother of four in eastern Sierra Leone. Six days a week, she works as a cleaner and cook at a compound for road engineers. She also runs a small business selling frozen juice ice blocks at the central market in Kailahun. Hannah already has customers. According to FTF field worker Isaac Yielder, her ice blocks are popular and often sell out within a few hours. The problem is production. Hannah does not own a freezer. She shares one with several other market sellers, which limits how much she can make and when she can make it. This project will purchase Hannah a 300 liter freezer of her own and cover the cost of getting it to her. With her own freezer, she will be able to produce on her own schedule, make more stock and grow a business she is already running. The additional income helps Hannah provide for her children. One of her children is currently attending university in Freetown. The total project cost is $511, including $484 for the freezer and $27 for delivery. Hannah already has the business and the customers. We’re helping her own the equipment she needs to grow it.
