UPDATE: We need help immediately!Today, November 14th was supposed to be a happy day at our adoption center....we turned on the water for the very first time, ready to take one tiny step closer to opening our doors for the animals who desperately need us.&nbsp; But within three minutes....Water was pouring out the ceiling vents, light fixtures and running down the walls.&nbsp; Our hearts just sank.This building was supposed to be our safe place, a place for intake, quarantine, recovery and adoption events. A place where scared animals could land softly. A place our small community could rally around.&nbsp; Instead, we stood there watching water rain down inside...and realizing we&#39;re facing repairs we cannot afford. We are not asking for luxury, just useable. While the space is not intended to serve as a full shelter due to its size, it will play a vital role as a community hub for vaccine clinics, adoption meet-and-greets, donation drop-offs, supply storage, animal bathing stations, and a small quarantine area for new or sick intakes before entering foster care. The American Animal Alliance is proud to partner with the Humane Society by coordinating local businesses and donors to support these improvements. Thanks to the generosity of Smith Plumbing and Heating and the American Animal Alliance, a new furnace system will soon be installed &mdash; marking the first step toward transforming this space into a place of hope.We invite you to join this community effort by sponsoring the kickoff renovation project and helping give this building the facelift it deserves.
