Every day, children experiencing foster care and victims of trauma walk into Department Health and Human Services offices and Law Enforcement agencies carrying fear, grief, confusion, and uncertainty. Many wait for hours &mdash; sometimes overnight &mdash; in spaces never designed to comfort people in crisis. Lily Pad changes that. We create safe, <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.lilypadinc.org/lily-pad-galleries#:~:text=Every%20Detail%20Matters" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">trauma-informed spaces</a> where children and victims can rest, play, regulate emotions, and experience a sense of comfort during some of the hardest moments of their lives. What began in <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.lilypadinc.org/lilypadroomsbeforeandafter" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">South Carolina</a> is now expanding into <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.lilypadinc.org/michigan-dhhs-gallery" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Michigan</a> and new communities as more agencies recognize the urgent need for trauma-informed spaces that care for vulnerable people with dignity and compassion. Our spaces primarily serve children experiencing foster care, helping them feel safe, valued, and cared for while they wait for placement, meet with caseworkers, or navigate traumatic transitions. As Lily Pad grows, we are also partnering with <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.lilypadinc.org/law-enforcement-lily-pads" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">law enforcement </a>agencies to support children, families, and victims in crisis with spaces designed to reduce fear and trauma in high-stress environments. Support through this campaign helps fuel Lily Pad&rsquo;s expansion into Michigan while also strengthening the overall mission and sustainability of our work as we continue serving children and victims wherever the need is greatest. At the heart of this work is a simple belief: every person is created in the image of God and deserves to experience safety, comfort, and love.
