For five weeks, our DiscoverWorks team kept showing up. We transported young people across the region so they could participate. We fed them. We taught math and ELA. We introduced them to entrepreneurship, financial education, philanthropy, wellness, leadership, careers, community history and new possibilities for their futures.We navigated transportation challenges, unexpected vendor disruptions, illness, severe environmental conditions and families facing needs far beyond what a summer program alone could solve.And through it all, our young people had five uninterrupted weeks of programming at Aya House. Yesterday, we celebrated what they accomplished. Today, we are asking our community to help us finish what we started. MFCF must raise $60,000 by August 31 to close the gap created by program costs and a delayed and uncertain final grant payment. These funds will help us meet outstanding DiscoverWorks obligations, with compensation for the educators, youth leaders and team members who made the program possible as a priority. They stood in the gap for our young people.Now we are asking you to stand in the gap for them.
