We are an organization of doulas and doulas-in-training who share the vision that all birthing persons deserve perinatal support especially in a time when women’s healthcare is difficult to access due to geographic, social, political and economic factors. Recent independent studies show that there are about 50 doulas actively working in Maine, mostly in our few urban areas. Our goal for 2025 is to increase the doula workforce by 50% in more rural parts of the state, where women often travel over an hour to receive proper prenatal care and give birth.  In 2024 we had record demand to provide doula services to those who cannot afford them and that demand is increasing! Your donations will help us reach these families and provide well trained, specialized support. A donation of as little as $50 provides:  Training materials or supplies for 1 doula's educationInformation about the benefits of doulas to 10 rural women's health providersTravel expense for 2 hours of prenatal education to an expectant familyTravel expense for 2 hours of postpartum support to a family with a newborn A donation of $100 or more cover the costs of: Organization telephone service for one month ($150)Organization technical costs for one month ($200)Organization Translation services for one month ($250)Travel & materials for continuous labor support by a doula (Avg $500)Birth Doula Training Scholarships Postpartum Doula Training Scholarships (each up to $700 total cost of training)
