Morrisey allocated state funds to keep both Harpers Ferry National Historical Park (HFNHP) and New River Gorge open. In Harpers Ferry, the funding kept shuttle buses running, restrooms open, and a skeleton crew of rangers to protect resources and operate the visitor center &mdash; but unable to collect entrance fees that provide crucial funding during one of the Park&rsquo;s busiest months. Funds that are vital support for park preservation, education, and maintenance that protect the history and natural beauty of HFNHP for future generations. Our rangers have remained dedicated to this park and their mission to preserve &ldquo;unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.&rdquo; It has been an inspiration to watch them persist in this mission.
