Andrea Ambam’s TWELVE ANGRY BLACK WOMEN is an award-winning new play wherein the fate of a peculiar and unprecedented case in American history rests in the hands of an all-Black, all-Femme jury. Support the ongoing development of TWELVE ANGRY BLACK WOMEN TODAY. Set within a "speculative" USA stamped as a backsliding democracy, TWELVE ANGRY BLACK WOMEN is a thrilling theatrical thought experiment where satire, reenactments, ritual, surrealism, and philosophical debate collide to consider the question: What if Black women stopped saving American democracy and just ended it instead? In this deliberately Black femme deliberation space, audiences are invited to witness - and participate in - an interrogation of "The American Experiment" and a manifestation of the consequences this country would face if Black women voted not with resilience, but with righteous rage.
