Statistics have shown that Black women, regardless of educational level, socioeconomic status, health insurance coverage, proximity to health care services, marital status, and other health behaviors, are twelve times more likely to die from pregnancy and delivery complications in most parts of our country. We seek to educate, advocate and support women of color during their birthing process and after. During the week of April 15-20, 2024, we seek to curate a week's worth of informative events on topics such as pre/post birth mental health disparities, birthing location options, provider classifications, grief and loss, LGBTQ+ birthing families and HIV/AIDS.  Join us for a transformative week of advocacy and communal celebration! ***All funds raised for the inaugural Black Maternal Mental Health week will be used to support educational events, community service materials, and the Doula Scholarship Fund.
