We are heartbroken to share the tragic loss of CAL FIRE Captain Rebecca Marodi, who was taken from us far too soon on February 17, 2025. Captain Marodi, 49, dedicated more than three decades to serving and protecting our communities with unwavering bravery, leadership, and commitment. Rebecca’s journey in the fire service began in 1993 as a volunteer firefighter in Moreno Valley. She went on to serve as a seasonal firefighter in Riverside and San Bernardino counties before promoting to Fire Apparatus Engineer in 2007 and achieving the rank of Captain in 2022. She was not just a respected leader and mentor—she was a beloved member of the CAL FIRE family. Beyond her career, Rebecca was a devoted daughter, serving as the primary caregiver for her 77-year-old mother, who lived with her in Ramona. Her sudden and heartbreaking passing has left her family facing immense grief and uncertainty.
How You Can Help
This fundraiser is dedicated to honoring Captain Marodi’s legacy by ensuring her mother can continue living in the home Rebecca provided for her and covering the costs of her funeral services. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease the burden on her grieving family as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Let’s stand together as a community to honor Captain Rebecca Marodi’s service, sacrifice, and memory. Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser to support her loved ones in this difficult time. Rest in peace, Captain Marodi. Your dedication, courage, and kindness will never be forgotten.
