102d Infantry Regiment Association Membership
The 102d Infantry, steeped in tradition, has formed the 102d Infantry Regiment Association to increase, where possible, our service to this great nation, the State of Connecticut and local communities; to participate in patriotic observances of national holidays and promote true Americanism; to continue the traditions of the famed 102d Infantry; and to recognize the heritage, rich traditions, and strong character and discipline of our Soldiers since the formation of the 102d Infantry as a military unit. The 102d Infantry Regiment Association provides its members mutual benefits, pleasure, amusement, fellowship and personal contact with former and present members of the 102d Infantry. It helps keep alive friendships and memories of times when we served our country as members of the 102d Infantry. The Regiment helps to assist our comrades or their families when need arises; promotes an educational climate for all people in the concepts of military service to the nation, the state, and the community; and venerates the memory of our deceased comrades. The 102d Infantry Regiment provides the NCO and Soldier of the Year with a monetary benefit to further their civilian education. Until his death, the 102d Infantry Regiment Association counted a Medal of Honor recipient as one of its members. The late Colonel Robert Nett was a member of the 102d Infantry when the 43rd Division was mobilized for WW II. Membership into the 102d Infantry Regiment Association is open to those who are currently serving or have served in the military unit designated as the 102d Infantry. Honorary membership applications for all others should include a nomination from an active member. The membership committee reviews all such applications for membership which shall be acted upon by the Executive Board. In order to provide necessary funds for the normal operation of the Association members shall be annually invited to pay dues of $10.00 at the time of the Annual Meeting. Application for life membership is available priced at $102. Retired members qualify for reduced lifetime membership fee of $75.
