No. https://getxent.com/a/docs/training/can-i-use-control-tubes-%22blanks%22How long will the odor last? If the tubes are stored in the mylar bags, in an airtight container in the fridge when not being used, they should last a minimum of 6 months, and up to a couple of years. There are several factors that influence viability https://getxent.com/a/docs/training/how-long-can-i-use-an-impregnated-getxent-tubesCan I reuse or recharge the tubes? No, they should be disposed of once the odor deteriorates. The tubes are not considered hazardous material, so they can be disposed of in a regular trash receptacle. Can I use the impregnated tubes to "soak" or "charge" another material? No, there is no guarantee of odor exchange, reach out to Getxent for additional guidance or information if needed. Will my dog know all HRD odor thoroughly and be deployable just using G-tubes to imprint them on HRD odor? I recuse myself of any responsibility or liability associated with determining whether a K9 is imprinted or deployable using Getxent tubes, solely Getxent tubes or other materials. As a general rule, I believe a K9 should be exposed to as many different materials, sources, and as many different decomposition stages as possible. There are too many influencing factors to determine the quality of imprinting, or deployability. I am confident enough in the quality of odor the tubes provide that I use them to train and reward my dog on finding them as I would actual/real source.Proceeds cover the cost of materials and time to prepare & ship the tubes. All funds go directly into the 421 K9 RRAD DBA 421 K9 SAR nonprofit bank account to cover materials & shipping with remaining proceeds going towards 421's expenses including the cost to maintain the K9s, deployment & callouts, as well as training & certification. 421 K9 Rescue, Recovery & Detection DBA 421 K9 Search & Rescue is a 501(c)3 as designated by the IRS, registered in the State of Florida as a Not for Profit, and registered with the Division of Consumer Services to raise funds and donations through the sale of goods.
